Laura (daughter) and Laurie (mother) joined forces in 2009 when Laurie owned West Bend Gift shop Moondance. When Laurie moved to Washington DC to nanny two of her grandchildren, Laura took over the shop with her best friend and business partner, Ashleigh. They changed the name, added a line of hand-blown glass products and Rootz was born. After several years, Ashleigh moved to California and Laura became the sole proprietor of Rootz. In 2015 Laurie moved back to West Bend to help with the shop while Laura attended classes at UWM to further her college degree in Environmental Science. Laura and Laurie share a passion for the Fair Trade movement and strive to supply the shop with goods that benefit artisans from around the globe as well as at home. We buy from as many local vendors as possible. Our line of hand-blown glass pipes are 90% made by Wisconsin artists. Many of our "wellness" products are made in house and are always made with pure, natural ingredients derived from nature and are good for the body and home environment. We strive to provide a friendly atmosphere to our customers, many who have become good friends. This year marks the 10 year anniversary for Rootz! We are very thankful to our community of patrons who support our small business and continue to shop local!
